AION 2 Beginner Tips: How to Start Strong in Atreia

Essential AION 2 starter tips — faction and class choices, the four playstyle tracks, early dungeons like Fire Temple and Dark Poeta, and how gear quality works.

Opening day in a new MMO is a race everyone runs at once. These are the fundamentals that separate players who snowball from players who stall — distilled from the KR/TW launch experience.
Pick Your Faction, Then Your Class — Carefully
One account can only create characters of one faction per server group, so the Elyos-or-Asmodian choice locks in your community and your warfront. Then comes the class: all eight classics return, each with a distinct feel. Read the class selection guide before committing — it's the single most consequential choice you'll make this week.
Know the Four Playstyle Tracks
AION 2 sorts its content into four tracks: solo PvE, group PvE, competitive PvP, and casual play. The PvE system supports solo challenges, 5-player parties and larger groups, with clear early milestones:
- Level 15 — Fire Temple: the classic dungeon returns as a solo tutorial in real mechanics
- Level 30 — Dark Poeta: a group dungeon where coordination starts to matter, paying out high-end gear
Learn the Gear Ladder Early
Equipment quality runs white (common) → green (fine) → blue (rare) → gold (epic), and gear is upgraded with enchantment stones that add levels. Your main currencies — Kinah for the marketplace and enchantment stones for gear — both flow from main quests, field kills and achievement rewards; see the Kinah guide for the full economy.
Speed Is a Choice, Not a Grind
Story quests are the fastest opening track, but not the only one — our leveling guide shows where questing stops being efficient and dungeon grinding takes over. And before you touch any macro or automation tool, read the macro and ban policy: the line between convenience and a banned account is sharper than in most MMOs.
