AION 2 High-Purity Rubies: How to Farm Better Gems

High-purity rubies are the quality tier of AION 2's ruby gathering — and like everything in the gathering system, quality is a skill-tree question before it's a luck question.

Step One: Unlock the Gem Appraiser Skill

Open the essence extraction skill page (top-right menu) and invest in the gem profession line until you unlock the Gem Appraiser node. This is the gate: with the appraiser skill active, your ruby harvests get a chance to roll a higher quality grade — without it, you're locked to the common tier no matter how many nodes you hit.

Step Two: Hit the Gathering Breakpoint

Quality rolls open up as your gathering level passes 50. Below the breakpoint, the skill has nothing to upgrade; at and above it, the appraiser perk starts paying. If you're leveling gathering anyway (and the economy guide says you should), time your ruby farm for after 50.

Step Three: Farm the Glowing Nodes

Look for shining ruby nodes — the sparkle marks the harvestable ore. Reliable spawn regions include:

• The small bridge left of the Kuelin camp — cross the bridge, look down to the right, and the ruby ore sits on the rock face below; harvest in loops
• Right of the Dudomon rest area
• Right of the Phantom Shrine garden on the eastern ridge

The diving layer hides extra mineral nodes too — the underwater world's gathering spots are the least contested on the map.

Why Bother

Rubies feed enchanting and the gem economy: high-purity grades sell at a steep premium to common ones, turning a boring gathering loop into one of the better passive incomes for characters between quests. Pair it with the daily gold dungeon and your Kinah funds itself.
