AION 2 Macros and Bans: What's Allowed and What Gets You Banned

AION 2's ban rules explained — skill-weaving macros are tolerated, but AFK macros, scripts, over-gathering and gold trading trigger enforcement. How detection actually works.

Endgame bosses demand real inputs — AION 2's enforcement draws a hard line under manual play.

The community question every launch produces: does the skill-weaving macro get you banned in AION 2? The answer is nuanced — and knowing the line is worth more than any macro is.

The Short Answer

A skill-weaving (attack-timing) macro alone — used while you're actively playing — does not get your account banned. What NC's system targets is everything that replaces a player: AFK macros, scripts, abnormal gathering behavior, real-money gold trading, and unauthorized programs.

What Actually Triggers Enforcement

  • AFK macros and scripts. Standing motionless too long — or running a macro that keeps you motionless for hours — is the classic bot signature, and it bans.
  • Over-gathering. Harvest volume above designed thresholds flags the account. The open fields have been flooded with gathering scripts; the detection watches totals, not just inputs.
  • Real-money trading. Buying gold or moving currency through unofficial channels is enforcement bait — it funds the very bot operations NC is suing in court.
  • Unauthorized programs. Any overlay or tool that injects inputs. There is no "safe" version of this.

How Detection Works

NC's system watches behavior patterns, not specific keybinds: movement signatures, session rhythms, gathering rates, and input regularity all feed the model. This is why a weaving macro used by an active player usually passes — the human is visibly present — while the same macro on a 14-hour unattended session reads as exactly what it is. The enforcement record backs this up: 23 punishment waves and 72,000+ bans since launch.

The Practical Rules

  1. Weave your attack timing if you like — stay at the keyboard.
  2. Take breaks like a person; log out when you step away.
  3. Never automate gathering or farming loops — the daily gold route is fast enough when played by hand.
  4. Dual clienting is officially supported — but only with manual control on both windows.

Longevity in AION 2 is a behavior pattern. Play like a player and the ban system is someone else's problem.
