AION 2 Pets and Companions: Four Ways to Get Yours

How to get pets in AION 2 — story unlocks, dungeon drops, event rewards and special quest lines, plus the utility skills that make companions worth the effort.

A living treant companion hauls its owner across the shallows — pets in AION 2 are more than decoration.

Pets in AION 2 are equal parts companion and toolkit: they follow you across Atreia, and the good ones add real utility. You don't need to pay to build a collection — four routes cover every budget.

1. Story and Side Quests (Free and Reliable)

Push the mainline and you'll unlock your first pet free at a fixed story point. Along the way, pet-themed side quests open up — map exploration, resource gathering, monster kills — and pay out new pets plus evolution and care materials. For free-to-play players, this is the backbone supply line.

2. Dungeon Drops

Rare pets and pet fragments drop from dungeon rewards — both elite challenge dungeons and limited-time event dungeons. Clearing them can yield pet eggs or cosmetic pieces, so the collection grows every time you run content you'd queue for anyway.

3. Events and Attendance

Festival events and version celebrations hand out pet eggs, evolution materials and pet skins for participating and checking in — the same reward rhythm as launch events like the Adventure Prologue wings track. Low effort, steady supply.

4. Special Quest Lines

Series like the Beast Tamer trials and the Ancient Contract demand more combat power and better play — and pay it back with powerful rare pets plus pet-specific utility unlocks like auto-loot and interaction skills. These are the companions that change your daily loop.

Summoning is handled from the pet menu once owned; the companions fight and follow but your damage affixes and godstones still do the heavy lifting.
