AION 2 Disconnect Fixes: Stay Connected Through Long Sessions

Stop AION 2 disconnects — route optimization, local network hygiene, client file repair and router restarts, ordered by what actually works.

An open-zone grind session — disconnects in AION 2 almost always trace to the network path, not the server.

Being booted to the login screen mid-dungeon is AION 2's most common complaint — and its most fixable. The game's servers hold up well; the failures live in the path between you and them.

Fix One: Stabilize the Route

Long-distance routes are where sessions die. A route-optimization tool (the same class of service used for crash prevention) picks the best path to the server and holds it — reducing latency and, more importantly, packet loss. If your sessions drop at peak hours but run clean at night, this is your fix: you're competing for route capacity.

Fix Two: Clean the Local Network

  • Go wired. Wi-Fi dropouts masquerade as server disconnects; ethernet ends the ambiguity
  • Close the bandwidth hogs — streaming boxes, cloud sync, background downloads
  • Restart the router before long sessions; stale NAT states cause exactly this symptom
  • If your household shares the connection, schedule your daily gold loop outside the family's streaming window

Fix Three: Repair the Client

Corrupted or outdated game files drop sessions when a zone streams in. Run the launcher's file verification/repair option, and keep the client updated — a version mismatch with the server is an instant kick.

Fix Four: Rule Out the Server

Before troubleshooting at 2 AM, check whether everyone's disconnected: server-side maintenance and emergency restarts produce mass drops that no local fix will solve. NC announces maintenance windows through official channels — see the platforms guide for where each region's service communicates.

When It's Your Hardware

Persistent drops on one machine only point at the NIC: update the network adapter driver, disable any "network boosters" bundled with motherboard software, and test a USB Wi-Fi or second ethernet port to isolate the fault.

Run the first two fixes and most players never see a disconnect screen again.
