AION 2 Item System Basics: Rarity, Slots, Stones & the Cube

AION 2's item system explained — item categories, the gear slot map, rarity colors, manastones, theostones, soul binding, and the cube storage.

Every number on your character traces back to an item, and AION 2's item system has four moving parts: categories (what an item does), slots (where it goes), rarity (how much it's worth), and stones (how it gets customized). Learn the map once and every screen in the game reads itself.
The Categories
Usable items split into three families: Food & Drinks (long-duration stat buff foods, from Coriolus Tea to Draconic Special Beef Wellington, with higher "Artisan's" versions), Potions (instant and over-time healing — Healing, Life, Mana and Wind lines, each with Superior tiers), and Scrolls (combat buffs: Courage, Critical Hit, Speed, Absorption, Benediction and more, scaling through Superior and Ultimate grades). Materials for crafting sit in their own stack — ores, gems, herbs, Balaur scales — and the Substance Morph screen converts surplus materials into rarer goods, up to and including Kina chests.
The Gear Slot Map
A full kit covers every silhouette: right hand (weapon — min/max attack, accuracy, critical, block), left hand guard, helm, pauldrons, top, legs, gloves, shoes, cloak (defense + HP), earrings, necklace, rings, bracelets (attack + defense), plus two special pieces — the Revelation Amulet and Noble Belt — that carry their own upgrade scrolls and never leave your build. Your overall gear level is the sum of it all, and it gates endgame content harder than character level does.
Rarity Is a Number, Not Just a Color
Rarity feeds directly into your item level score: yellow and blue pieces add 5, green adds 3, grey adds 0. The same sum also counts enhancement levels and the Daevanion Crystals you've spent on your boards — so a decked-out kit and an invested character climb the same meter.

Stones: The Customization Layer
The Enhance All panel carries four tabs, and each one is a system: Enhance raises base stats with Enhancement Stones; Manastone slots socket extra attributes into gear; Theostone upgrades those socketed stats; Soul Binding locks in character-specific bonuses. Fused with godstones procs and the damage affixes on high-tier drops, a "finished" item is really four upgrades deep.
Storage and Movement
The cube is your inventory, expandable as you level. Surplus moves two ways: to other players through the Market (selling requires the first membership tier — buying is free), or into the conversion systems — Substance Morph and the Supply Requests that trade materials for Abyss Points. Nothing in the item system is a dead drop; every duplicate has a second buyer.
