AION 2 Servers: How to Choose & Reserve Your Name

AION 2's confirmed server regions, how to pick a server (latency, friends, language), the priority queue rule, and how character names get claimed.
Choose your AION 2 server by region first — NC has confirmed server locations in North America, South America, Europe, and Japan — then by where your friends play. Your character name is claimed the moment you create your character, first come, first served.

Individual server names for the global service haven't been published yet (as of September 29, 2026) — watch official channels and the release info hub before October 5.
How to Choose
- Latency: pick the region closest to you — this is the one decision you can't easily undo
- Friends and faction: coordinate before launch; everyone must pick the same server to play together
- Community: large streamer servers feel busy; unlisted servers mean shorter queues — wait until names are announced to decide
Reserving Your Character Name
There's no separate name-reservation system announced for the global version — you claim a name by creating your character on that server, and popular names go fast. The head start matters: Advanced Access players start creating characters on September 30, five days before the free unlock (how to get in). If the name you want is distinctive, that five-day window is the difference between claiming it and suffixing numbers.
Queues on Full Servers
NC's launch policy: when a server hits capacity, accounts in good standing join the priority queue instead of the general queue — both move as space opens. It's a privilege, not a guarantee: disciplinary action or suspected ToS violations can revoke it (the ban rules). Note also that direct player-to-player trades are disabled as an anti-bot measure; the Market is the trading hub (economy guide).
