AION 2 Nightmare Dungeons: Solo Boss Runs, Ranks and Rewards
Published 2026-09-293 min read
What Nightmare Dungeons are in AION 2 — solo one-boss runs with two clears a day, Challenge Levels 1-10, Iron to Challenger ranks and Dream Fragment payouts.

Nightmare Dungeons are AION 2's solo-only boss trials: one boss per run, two clears a day, and a season ladder that pays Dream Fragments and rank rewards. They sit on the Season menu alongside the Transcendence stages and the Abyss as one of the repeatable pillars, and they are the only one where nobody else can carry you.
How a Run Works
Each dungeon is a single boss encounter. You pick your own Challenge Level from 1 to 10, fight the boss alone, and clearing Challenge Level 10 unlocks the next tier of dungeons. Runs recharge daily — two clears per day is the hard cap, and the weekly rotation tops out at seven entries, which is why the daily routine books them like appointments.

The Payoff
Every kill drops Dream Fragments, the currency of the dedicated Nightmare Trade Shop — one of the four redemption stores in the shop loop. On top of the drops, the mode carries ranks from Iron up to Challenger 1: your grade is recalculated as the season runs, and the season payout lands at the next reset based on your best result.
Who It's For
Solo players who want endgame-relevant progression without grouping, and everyone else on weekly duty. If the ladder wall stalls you, the enhancing economy in the Transcendence chain is what pushes your gear level past the next boss's check.
